Equinome is a world leader in the research and development of state-of-the-art genomic tools for the Thoroughbred industry. Equinome’s equine genetic tests are advanced tools designed to analyse the genetic makeup of Thoroughbred horses. These tests provide valuable insights into various traits that influence a horse’s performance, health, and overall potential. Piorioners in equine genetic testing and research, Equinome have an ongoing multi-million euro genomic research program with a focus on developing innovative products based upon strong scientific research to help empower the performance of our clients.
Equinome is part of Zinto Labs, the animal and environmental genomics research group.
Professor Emmeline Hill is a co-founder of Equinome Ltd. In 2004 she received a President of Ireland research award to establish the world’s first academic research programme dedicated to understanding the genetics of performance traits in the Thoroughbred.
Since then, she has been at the forefront of Thoroughbred performance genomics and has published more scientific papers on equine exercise genomics than any other researcher worldwide. She is Professor in Equine Genomics at University College Dublin where she leads the Equine Exercise Genomics research group funded by Science Foundation Ireland.
